The prints offered are original Chromo prints published in 1903 for the Bureau of American Ethnology. Labeled on the upper left hand margin is, " Bureau of American Ethnology", On the top right is printed " Twenty-First Annual Report. PL--". On the lower right hand margin is
"Heliotype Co,. Boston".

The image size is 5 1/4" x 8 1/2", Page size is 7 1/4" x 11".
They are in Very Good condition and have the even age toning
that you would hope to find in a prints of this age.

In 1899, these images were drawn and coloured by native Hopi artists,
chosen and commissioned by Jessie Walters Fewkes,
the authority in Hopi Indian affairs.

They were published in 1903 in the rarest and most expensive of all the BAEs (because of the desirability of these prints).

They have excellent colors, very bright and vivid.
The image is very sharp and clear, showing the amazing detail of the dolls.
The images show this lovely and authentic detail.

They are 95 YEARS OLD.

All the Katchina prints have been sold
I have been told by a number of schools, that these images and text of each of the katchinas is a resource that is useful to their students. I have decided to make the site available to all that wish to access it, by selling a password to it for the remaining days in each month for $1.00. The site contains images of each print (24) images of the original text describing the print, and images of Fewkes original introduction to the work. The password may be used by any number of people, any number of times during that month. The images and text may be downloaded, and used without getting permission. The password will be changed on the 1st of each month. and the previous password will be invalid. The $1.00 charge can either be paid through your paypal account or by your credit card handled by paypal. (I never see any of the credit card info) If for any reason, after paying the $1.00, things are not acceptable, i will immediately refund the money. I will send the password to your e-mail address.
